Equine Ophthalmology

The horse's eye is fascinating because of its size. This results in large areas without a blood supply. Natural healing processes are therefore very important for the cornea. Invasive procedures are often necessary, especially inside the eye. These require a lot of equipment.

I primarily perform all types of eye surgery on horses. Depending on the case, this is done in a clinic near you or at your stable. I specialize in operations on the inside of the eye in particular. However, the aim is always to prefer conservative or gentler methods through conscientious diagnostics. I am also happy to advise veterinarians and horse owners nationwide.

Communication and clinical stay:

By using technical aids, we try to optimize the number, time and location of appointments. Routine examinations and minor procedures can be carried out on site at the home stable. In the case of illnesses that need to be monitored over time, we recommend a stay in hospital. Follow-up appointments can be reduced through care and guidance via the exchange of images and information according to protocol.
